Crib Canopy and Knitting Projects

I had help this weekend, so I used my time to do a few crafty projects I’d been meaning to get to. The first was a crib canopy. I have been trying to make E’s floor bed more enticing for him, so I thought it’d be fun to make a canopy and hang it over his little mattress like a tent. I used ten yards of fabric and an old embroidery hoop. It worked and was cute and he loved it, but I’m not sure there is a way to hang a crib canopy that is robust enough to stand up to a wiggly toddler while not being so robust as to allow him to accidentally hang himself. If there is, it probably doesn’t involve fishing line. So, the crib canopy is stuffed in the closet in the nursery. Anyone want to buy a crib canopy for the cost of materials and shipping? Hah.

ImageI left the mobile up, and having the bookshelf there instead of the end table makes the area cozier in an of itself.

My other projects turned out better (well, more useful), even the one I knitted without a pattern (the hat). Here’s the latest soaker, It’s huge!

Dino hat. I was going to do bear ears but I ran out of white yarn, so dragon/dino scales happened.
